The Boston Sculptors Gallery is hosting Passages, an exhibit by Adero Willard ’95 through Feb. 13.

Willard, currently a visiting assistant professor at Alfred University’s School of Art and Design, has exhibited work nationally and internationally and has been featured in a number of publications and books on ceramics. She has worked as a professor of ceramics at Holyoke Community College and, since 2014, is one of the cofounders of Pots on Wheels, a nonprofit mobile clay education outreach project.

Passages opened Jan. 13 at Boston Sculptors Gallery, where gallery hours are Wednesday – Sunday from 1am to 5pm.

Willard’s Artist Statement emphasizes her “love of clay and passion for color and pattern” as fuel for her work as a ceramic artist and potter. “As a woman of color, metaphors created through complex layers of pattern and color present endless possibilities for exploring identity, materiality, and design. Working with clay is as much a desire to create, as it is a commitment to nurture a love of the arts and the handmade in herself and others.”
