Gaustad, Tidrow co-chairs of forum discussing materials technologies in supporting sustainability

Gabrielle Gaustad ’04, dean of the Inamori School of Engineering at Alfred University, and Steven Tidrow, Inamori Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, organized an upcoming forum sponsored by the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) which will discuss the role materials play in supporting development of sustainability and renewable energy technologies.
ALFRED, NY—Gabrielle Gaustad ’04, dean of the Inamori School of Engineering at Alfred University, and Steven Tidrow, Inamori Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, organized an upcoming forum sponsored by the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) which will discuss the role materials play in supporting development of sustainability and renewable energy technologies.
The forum, “Materials Challenges in Alternative and Renewable Energy 2021” (MCARE 2021), will be held virtually during the Fourth Annual Energy Harvesting Society (EHS) meeting, July 18-23. ACerS and its Energy Materials Systems Division organize the EHS meeting. Gaustad and Tidrow are among five co-organizing chairs for the MCARE 2021 forum.
According to ACerS, ACARE 2021 is “the premier forum to address opportunities of emerging materials technologies that support sustainability of a global society.”
The Energy Harvesting Society meeting is an international conference that brings together leading global experts from higher education, industry, research and development laboratories, and governmental agencies “to collectively interact and communicate materials technologies that address development of affordable, sustainable, environmentally friendly, and renewable energy technologies,” ACerS stated.
The conference will include plenary and invited talks, technical sessions, and poster presentations.
