Two young artists, both children of Alfred University alumni, and one alumna from the Class of 1989 are winners of the 2021 Alfred in Color Coloring Contest, hosted by the Alfred University Office of Advancement.

Ten-year-old Benjamin Scheffler, son of Mike ’94 and Lori Scheffler, is the winner of the 10-and-under category. His father majored in Business Administration when an undergraduate at Alfred University.

Eleven-year-old Braelyn Baulsir, daughter of Jonathan ’02 and Deborah Baulsir, took top honors in the 11-17 year-old category. His father also majored in Business Administration.

Kelly Neff Casey ’89 was the winner in the 18-and-above category. She majored in Art and Design as an undergraduate.

Contestants colored drawings of an Alfred University campus scene designed by Olivia Piazza ’19, who works as a graphic designer in the University’s Office of Marketing and Communications. Numerous submissions were submitted by alumni and their children, evoking individual imaginings of the natural beauty of the campus.

Judges for the contest were President Mark Zupan; Lauren Lake, Dean of the College of Art and Design; and Piazza.
