NYC group exhibition includes work by Assistant Professor of Foundations Art Katarina Riesing

Alfred University Assistant Professor of Foundations Art Katarina Riesing will be in the group exhibition Magic Touch from March 24-May 1, joining other artists including Natalie Arbelaez, Jen Dwyer, Donté K. Hayes, Roxanne Jackson, Sophia Narrett, and Anthony Sonnenberg.

The location of this exhibition is the Dinner Gallery in New York City.

Magic Touch takes a step back from this past year enveloped in systems of internality and examines its effects both culturally and individually. This exhibition offers an escape from solitude through the hope for connection while also extending a word of caution as to what can happen after spending too much time in dreamland. Most importantly, these seven artists offer love, light and a magic touch, after a previously dark and foggy year.

Born in Knoxville, TN, Riesing received a BA from Smith College, Northampton, MA, and an MA and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Her solo exhibitions include Seligmann Center for the Arts, Chester, NY, SoHo20 Gallery, NY; group exhibitions include Kristin Lorello Gallery, NY, New Discretions, NY, Field Projects, NY, Spring/Break NY, and Bertrand Productions, Philadelphia, PA.

She has been awarded residencies at Saltonstall, Cite International des Arts Residency, Paris, Icelandic Textile Center, Vermont Studio Center, and New York Artist Residency and Studio Foundation (NARS). Riesing was also featured in the exhibition "Ariadne Unraveling" at Asya Geisberg Gallery in June 2019.
