The April 15 Bergren Forum will be delivered by fourth-year student Kayleah Aldrich, winner of the 2021 Wit and Wisdom Award, sponsored by the Alpha Gamma of New York Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at Alfred University.

Aldrich will read her essay, "Who Is Movement For? A Fight for Control on the Stage in 'Chicago.’” Her talk will include video clips from the 2002 award-winning movie and will analyze competing presentations of Roxie Hart’s character in two dance numbers: “Roxie” and “We Both Reached for the Gun.”

Aldrich will graduate from Alfred University in May with a BFA from the University’s School of Art and Design, as well as minors in business management, arts management and dance.

Her Bergren Forum will begin at noon Thursday.  An email will be sent to AU faculty, students and staff Monday and Thursday with contact information for accessing the Zoom event. Others may secure the Zoom connection by emailing Marilyn Saxton.
