Artist Will Wheeler to join SOAD as Assistant Professor

Artist Will Wheeler will join the faculty of Alfred University’s School of Art and Design in the fall as Assistant Professor of Sculpture/Dimensional Studies. Wheeler’s appointment follows a year of serving as a fellow at the prestigious Henry Luce Foundation as Scholar in residence in China.

He received his MFA at Yale University and his BFA from Vassar College. An artist whose work includes objects, performance, and interactive technology, he has studied philosophy and studio art and won awards in community service excellence for teaching art to underserved elementary students. For the last two years, he has taught art concurrently at a bilingual elementary school, at the Corcoran School of Art, and at George Mason University.
