In spite of more than 200 years of technological innovation – and the various social forces unleashed by the women’s rights movement – Szymanski observes the responsibilities of annual spring cleaning continue to fall principally on women.
The op-ed, titled "Will rituals of spring cleaning survive the coronavirus pandemic?," was published June 7.
