A memorial service for Richard C. Thompson of Dayton, OR, former dean of the Alfred University School of Art and Design, will be held on Saturday, June 26, beginning at 6 p.m. EST. Thompson passed away in February at the age of 75.
A memorial service for Richard C. Thompson of Dayton, OR, former dean of the Alfred University School of Art and Design, will be held on Saturday, June 26, beginning at 6 p.m. EST. Thompson passed away in February at the age of 75.

Thompson was appointed dean of the School of Art and Design in September of 1997 after a 12-year tenure as professor of painting and assistant chair of the Art and Art History Department at the University of Texas, Austin. He held the dean's position at Alfred University until 2005, when he joined the faculty as a professor of painting. He retired from teaching in 2008.
