Alfred University alumnus Terry Montgomery ’70 has established an endowed scholarship to benefit Alfred University students in need.
Montgomery, who earned a bachelor’s degree in business, established the Alumni Funded Scholarship for Student Academic Excellence. Montgomery is retired from global insurance company Chubb Incorporated, where he served as vice president and worldwide manager for marine and transportation underwriting. He created the endowment, according to the gift agreement, because he “believes that his Alfred experience, in all of its many facets, helped to propel him forward and provided a strong foundation for his future endeavors.”
The scholarship will be awarded annually to student(s) in need. As the balance of the endowment fund grows, so, too, will the number of students who will benefit. The scholarship endowment will be funded by gifts from alumni, who are encouraged to contribute as part of their participation in the Alumni Reunion, scheduled for Aug. 5-8 on the Alfred University campus.
Alumni can donate to the Alumni Funded Scholarship for Student Academic Excellence online, or call University Advancement at 607-871-2144 for more details.
