A memorial service for David Meissner, emeritus professor of psychology at Alfred University, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Union University Church in Alfred, with the Rev. Laurie DeMott officiating. David passed away at his home in Alfred Station on July 22. He was 77.
David joined the Alfred University faculty in 1971, serving as a professor of psychology until his retirement in 1996. He was a graduate of Ripon College (1965) and earned his PhD in experimental psychology from the University of Maine in 1969. In addition, he served in the United States Army, receiving his honorable discharge as a Captain in 1971.
