Eye of Detroit involves a large, eye-shaped projection screen illuminated by a color-changing projector. The exhibit serves as a platform for children, adults, and the occasional canine to do an unlimited variety of shadow poses, dances, and other forms of self-expression.
Taylor’s work at Alfred University is a collaboration between the School of Engineering and the School of Art and Design. He works with both artists and engineers and has been building the digital lab in Harder Hall. Taylor joined the University in January 2021 after serving as instructor, technician and digital fabrication specialist at the University of Cincinnati. He received his BA from the University of Kansas and an MFA from Southern Illinois University.
