Mitchell Merback, the Arnell and Everett Land Professor in the History of Art at the Johns  Hopkins University, will deliver the Thursday, Oct. 21 Bergren Forum.

The author of several books on Northern European art the late Middle Ages and Early Modern period, Merback will present his lecture, "Art and the Cure of Melancholy: The Case of Albrecht Dürer."

Durer, (1471 – 1528) was a German painter, printmaker, and theorist of the German Renaissance

The Bergren Forum, sponsored by the Division of Human Studies, is held at 12:10 p.m. each Thursday the University. It is being offered virtually via Zoom and will return to an in-person format once the university considers this sufficiently safe.
