Art History Assistant Professor James Hansen to present Nov. 18 Bergren Forum: ‘Light Matter Postscript’

Alfred University Assistant Professor of Art History James Hansen will present the Nov. 18 Bergren Forum, “Light Matter Postscript,” in which he will discuss the film festival he and Eric Souther, Alfred University Assistant Professor of Video Art, curated. The “Light Matter” film festival begins today (Nov. 12) and continues Saturday and Sunday.

Hansen joined the Alfred University faculty in 2019 after receiving his MA PhD in the History of Art from the Ohio State University. In addition, he received a Master’s Degree in Film Studies from Columbia University in 2009.

The Bergren Forum, sponsored by the Division of Human Studies, is held at 12:10 p.m. each Thursday. It is being offered virtually via Zoom and will return to an in-person format once the university considers this sufficiently safe. The Zoom links can be obtained by e-mailing Marilyn Saxton.
