Alfred University Music Department to present ‘Mostly Mozart' concert

The “Mostly Mozart" concert, featuring two Alfred University students performing as soloists, will be held Friday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Miller Theater.


ALFRED, NY – The “Mostly Mozart" concert, featuring two Alfred University students performing as soloists, will be held Friday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Miller Theater.

Students Monica Nowik and Luke Piazza will perform with the Alfred University Orchestra. The concert, which is presented by the Music Department and directed by Lisa Lantz, professor of music, is free and open to the public.

Nowik, a flutist, is a sophomore English major from New Providence, NJ. She will perform the first movement of Mozart’s Flute Concerto No. 2 in D major, K. 314. Piazza is a first-year music major from Horseheads, NY, who is actively involved in the Alfred University Jazz Band, Concert Band, Pep Band and Orchestra. Equally talented on both horn and trumpet, he will perform the Romance and Rondo from Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 3 in E flat, K. 447.
