Alfred University alumnus Steve Miller ’73, who played lacrosse for the Saxons before embarking on a long, noteworthy career as a lacrosse official, is featured in a recent article published on the online platform Substack.

Miller, who earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Alfred University, is the subject of an article, titled “Mr. Official… the Ubiquitous Mr. Steve Miller, Sir,” published on Substack by Daniel Witmer on Monday, March 14.

Miller began officiating high school games in 1975 and two years later moved up to the collegiate level. In his four decade-plus career as an official, he has worked seven NCAA championship games. A 2004 inductee into the US Lacrosse Upstate Chapter Hall of Fame, he has officiated at the professional level as well.
