Gary Ostrower ’61, retired professor of history at Alfred University, was a guest on this morning’s (Thursday, March 17) episode of the “Newsmaker” program on Hornell, NY, radio station WLEA 1480-AM.


Gary Ostrower ’61, retired professor of history at Alfred University, was a guest on this morning’s (Thursday, March 17) episode of the “Newsmaker” program on Hornell, NY, radio station WLEA 1480-AM.

During this morning’s Newsmaker program, Ostrower discussed a number of topics related to Alfred University, including the University’s program in ceramics, St. Patrick’s Day and its significance to Alfred University (St. Patrick is the patron saint of engineering, and the University had a long history of celebrating St. Patrick’s Day), and noteworthy women affiliated with the University.

Ostrower, who earned a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Alfred University in 1961, taught at his alma mater from 1969 until the end of the Fall 2021 semester.
