Alfred Summer Arts 2022 features four week-long arts workshops in a variety of media areas designed for participants working at all levels: artists, teachers, community members and visiting professionals. Week three will feature an immersive five-day festival designed to embrace the creativity of the community in collaboration with local and international visiting artists.

Hosting a diversity of one-week intensives ranging from indigo dying, painting, and printmaking, to hip-hop, somatic movement, and podcasting, there is something for anyone seeking hands on creative growth. Focus on a single method, or join during the festival week to create with world class international artists and scholars from across the disciplines in our unique setting.

Alfred Summer Arts Festival: Making Meaning in an Uncertain World. Alfred University invites the public into an immersive five-day festival designed to embrace the creativity of the community in collaboration with local and international visiting artists. With over twenty visiting and emerging artists joining us for the week, participants will have the opportunity to become immersed in the diversity of these artists’ processes and contribute to the creation of festival performances.
