He received his MFA in Acting from The New School for Drama in New York, and received BA's in Theatre and Asian Studies from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. He has worked as a professional actor in New York, Minneapolis, and Phoenix. Along the way, he has appeared in the Warner Bros. movie "The Judge," the Hulu show "Deadbeat," in commercials, voice-overs, music videos, and in innumerable other projects. He has been a proud member of SAG-AFTRA since 2016. Jonathan has taught theatre at Estrella Mountain Community College, Arizona State University, South Mountain Community College, and through the Arizona Film Festival. He lives with his incredible wife Chrissy (a talented theatre practitioner in her own right), and their two amazing kids.

Jonathan states “I am thrilled to be joining the community at Alfred University this fall. Theatre's vitality comes from being intensely collaborative, and I couldn't ask for a finer community of faculty, students, and staff to collaborate alongside. The cohort of artists at Alfred I've so far had the pleasure of interacting with have been, to the last person; invigorating, curious, and welcoming. Alfred is a place that proudly values the DOING of art, and I can't wait to get my hands dirty.”

Special thanks to the search committee for their service:  Associate Professor Maureen Weiss (chair), Assistant Professor Colleen Wahl and Professor of Practice Rey Jeong.
