Four MFA students set to open thesis exhibitions

Four candidates for Master of Fine Arts degrees from the Alfred University School of Art and Design will present their thesis projects in exhibitions opening Saturday, April 16.


ALFRED, NY – Four candidates for Master of Fine Arts degrees from the Alfred University School of Art and Design will present their thesis projects in exhibitions opening Saturday, April 16.

Exhibitions by MFA students, Margeaux Claude, Noah Greene, Felicity Machado, and Crane (He) Zhu will remain on view through Tuesday, April 19. Machado and Greene will give artist talks related to their work: Greene’s will be on Monday, April 18, at noon; Machado’s will be on Tuesday, April 19, at 4 p.m. The talks will be offered virtually.

Claude’s Ceramic Art thesis exhibition is titled “Reverberations.” An opening reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16, in the Fosdick-Nelson Gallery.

Greene’s Ceramic Art thesis exhibition is titled “If Not Home, Then Where? an act of queer healing.” An opening reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16, in the Robert C. Turner Gallery.

Machado’s Sculpture/Dimensional Studies thesis exhibition is titled “Near Field Communication.” An opening reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16, in the Fosdick-Nelson Gallery.

Zhu’s’s Electronic Integrated Arts thesis exhibition is titled “Beyond Perception.” Opening reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, April 17, in the Robert C. Turner Gallery.
