Students of Randall Chairs opening exhibition of ceramic art

An exhibition of work by Alfred University students in the Spring semester Ceramic Sculpture II class taught by International Randall Chairs in Ceramic Art, Liet Heringa and Maarten Van Kalsbeek, will be shown April 22-24.


ALFRED, NY--An exhibition of work by Alfred University students in the Spring semester Ceramic Sculpture II class taught by International Randall Chairs in Ceramic Art, Liet Heringa and Maarten Van Kalsbeek, will be shown April 22-24.

The exhibition, “Frontstage | Backstage”—featuring work by students Charlotte Smith, Salyn Yancey, Brenna Turner, Kayle Hatfield, Emilia Shen, Hudson Bell, and Aliza Ladiwala—will be shown in the Alfred Village Hall, 7 West University Street.

Step back in time and see an exploration of the meaning of front and back stage. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, April 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition will be open for view on Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24, from 3 to 5 p.m.

Heringo and Van Kalsbeek, along with teaching assistant Margeaux Claude, an M.F.A. student in ceramic art, assisted in organizing the exhibition.
