Alpha Bah, winner of the 2022 Wit and Wisdom Competition at Alfred University, will deliver the April 14 Bergren Forum: “Battle for a Nation: The Civil War from 1862 to 1863."
Bah writes: “The Civil War is often cited as the bloodiest conflict in American history. However, many at the time expected the war to be a quick and bloodless affair. What changed after the first year of fighting and how did it radically transform America.”
A New York City resident, Bah is a fourth-year student at Alfred University majoring in History. He also is a tutor for Alfred University’s Writing Center.
The University’s Wit and Wisdom Competition is sponsored by the Alpha Gamma of New York Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at Alfred University.
The Bergren Forum weekly lecture series is held at 12:10 p.m. Thursdays and is currently carried on the Zoom platform. The Zoom link for Bergren forums may be obtained by e-mailing Marilyn Saxton.
