Alfred University alumna Felicity Machado, MFA ’22 is one of 41 artists in residence this summer in the Chautauqua School of Art Residency Program.

The program is held at the Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua County, New York. Artists in residence will exhibit in galleries and work with core faculty members in the Chautauqua School of Art.

Alfred University’s School of Art and Design is in the first year of a partnership with Chautauqua Visual Arts. Under the partnership agreement, the University will provide full scholarships for a current student to attend and will contribute a $1,000 scholarship (matched by the CVA) to alumni who gain acceptance into the residency program.

Machado earned an MFA degree in sculpture/dimensional studies from Alfred University in May 2022.

Chautauqua Visual Arts hosts partnerships with various institutions and organizations that are aligned with its mission to support and further the lives of artists. In partnership with CVA, Alfred University joins numerous other institutions in the United States dedicated to the education of artists, including Penn State School of Visual Arts, Ohio University, The Pittsburgh Glass Center, Pratt Institute, and Artspace New Haven.
