Summer Exhibitions

This summer the galleries on Alfred University campus are open with a variety of exhibitions. Campus galleries, including the Cohen Gallery, Fosdick-Nelson Gallery and the Robert C. Turner Gallery are open Tuesday - Sunday 11-2, and the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum is open Tuesday - Sunday 10-5. Extended gallery hours will be held in conjunction with the Alfred Art Walk on Thursday, July 21 from 5-8 pm


This summer the galleries on Alfred University campus are open with a variety of exhibitions. Campus galleries, including the Cohen Gallery, Fosdick-Nelson Gallery and the Robert C. Turner Gallery are open Tuesday - Sunday 11-2, and the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum is open Tuesday - Sunday 10-5. On view at the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum: William Underhill: Casting a Legacy. In large measure the exhibition focuses on vessel forms made from early 1960 to early 2000.

The Cohen Gallery features The Bob & Boble Show; a whimsical show featuring Yessiree Bob: a photo-graphic collection of Bob signs by Judy Livingston, and bobble head sculptures by Jesse "So Handsome" Plass. On view through August 5.

The Shop at Cohen is open for business; online store available. The Shop now offers an online store which allows visitors to virtually shop for fine art and craft produced by Alfred University faculty and staff.

The Fosdick-Nelson Gallery is open this summer with an exhibition entitle Rising: 1st Year MFA Candidates with work from the Ceramic Art, Electronic Integrated Arts, Painting, and Sculpture- Dimensional Studies MFA programs. On view through July 24.

The Robert C. Turner Gallery, an exhibition a student run, student envisioned exhibition space features an annual exhibition of work from the incoming class of Art & Design + Performing Arts Divisions students entitle Start Your Engine. The exhibition showcases students from around the world and celebrates the talent and creativity of our new Arts students. The exhibition is made possible by the support of the Office of Enrollment Management and the School of Art & Design + Performing Arts Division. This annual exhibition is curated by current student interns; this year our student curators are: Lukas Perry (BFA 2023) and Xavi LeFevre (BFA 2025). On view through September 2.

Also on view on the second floor of the Turner Gallery is an exhibition of work by the MFA Painting Class of 2022.
