Alfred University professor, alumni collaborate on article for ACerS newsletter

An article by S.K. Sundaram, Inamori Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Alfred University, and Alfred University alumni Nicholas Tostanoski ’18 and Darren Stohr ’92, PhD ’06 has been published in the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) Bulletin.


The article, “Detectors in space: Analyzing cosmic ray tracks in barium phosphate glasses with unknown environmental information,” was published in the December 2022 issue of the ACerS Bulletin and appears on pages 34-35.

Tostanoski earned a bachelor’s degree in materials science and engineering (minors in chemistry, glass science engineering, and business administration) from Alfred University in 2018 and is a PhD candidate in glass science. Stohr earned bachelor’s and doctoral degrees in ceramic engineering from Alfred University. He is a scanning electron microscopist in the Inamori School of Engineering.
