Public events in the School of Art and Design/Performing Arts Division are scheduled for the end of the semester: Friday, December 3 - December 10, 2022. All events are free and open to the public.

7:30pm Saturday, December 3 Miller Theatre Alfred University Popular Music Ensemble Live Recording Sessions Alfred University Music program presents - Popular Music Ensemble Live Recording Sessions. An intimate experience on the stage of Miller Theatre with the pop music ensemble playing original compositions and reinterpretations of modern pop songs. Each song will be recorded live in front of the audience, both for video and audio purposes. Seating is very limited, first come first serve. Audience will sit on the stage with the ensemble!

This event is free and open to the public!

7pm Wednesday December 7 Nevins Theater Wednesday Arts Speaker: Sana Musasama Sana Musasama will speak on her work as an artist, activist, and advocate for women and girls victimized by trafficking across the globe.

6-8pm December 9 Alfred Arts Studio at the West & Graduate Painting Studios Binns-Merrill Hall 134 Layers & Levels A group exhibition featuring work of the first and second-year graduate painters. Artists include JJ Baker, Zihao Chen, Amanei Johnson, Chae Eun Lee, S. Alexandra Simental, and Mim Weinkauf.

 

Choir Concert Image7:30pm Friday, December 9 Miller Theatre University Chorus and Encore Choir Concert There is Sweet Music Here The University Chorus and Encore Choir present their fall semester concert, "There is Sweet Music Here" featuring choral classics and popular songs featuring students and community members. The chorus is conducted by Rebecca Weaver Hamm, Adjunct Instructor of Voice, and accompanied by Mingren Huang, Visiting Assistant Professor of Music. This family-friendly concert is open to all. Free admission.

 4-8pm Saturday, December 10 Robert C. Turner Gallery Senior Shows BFA Exhibitions are held on campus and are free and open to the public. Family and visitors from outside the School of Art & Design unable to join in person are be able to view the exhibitions through a streaming video tours on Saturday December 10, 6-8pm Register for Zoom Tour
