Artist, educator, arts advocate Sharon Louden to present at Jan. 19 Artists’ Speaker Series

The Weekly Wednesday Artists’ Speaker Series at Alfred University resumes on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m. with the first lecture of the Spring 2022 semester being presented by artist, educator, and arts advocate Sharon Louden.


ALFRED, NY— The Weekly Wednesday Artists’ Speaker Series at Alfred University resumes on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m. with the first lecture of the Spring 2022 semester being presented by artist, educator, and arts advocate Sharon Louden.

Louden is artistic director of Chautauqua Visual Arts at Chautauqua Institution’s School of Art Residency Program, and is editor of the Living and Sustaining a Creative Life series of books. Her lecture in the Weekly Wednesday Artists’ Speaker Series is titled “Living and Sustaining a Creative Life.” The presentation will be offered in Holmes Theater, Harder Hall. For those who prefer to take in the lecture virtually, it will be offered via Zoom; please use this link to register.

In the Weekly Wednesday Artists’ Speaker Series, faculty and staff in the School of Art and Design/Performing Arts Division, as well as guest artists, present short talks on their creative practice outside of the classroom. The series—offered both in-person and virtually—aims to engage the Alfred community by creating a unique sharing space focusing on the arts.
