Alfred University’s Yiquan Wu appointed editor of the Journal of the American Ceramic Society

Yiquan Wu, professor of materials science at the Inamori School of Engineering at Alfred University, has been appointed an editor for the Journal of the American Ceramic Society.
ALFRED, NY – Yiquan Wu, professor of materials science at the Inamori School of Engineering at Alfred University, has been appointed an editor for the Journal of the American Ceramic Society.
As an editor, Wu will serve as a principal arbiter for the scientific content of the Journal to ensure its high scientific standards, and will be a key contributor to the future success of the Journal and the American Ceramic Society (ACerS).
“Professor Wu brings energy and new perspectives to the Journal editorial team,” said Jonathan Foreman, Journal managing editor. “Yiquan’s relationships in the ceramics and glass research community will serve him well for working with and attracting to the Journal the best authors and reviewers around the globe.”
The Journal of the American Ceramic Society, established in 1918, is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published on behalf of ACerS. The Journal is currently is overseen by Editor-in-Chief William G. Fahrenholtz, professor of materials science and engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology. It publishes fundamental research work on discovery, processing, characterization, and analysis of new materials and covers all aspects of research findings on ceramic materials science and engineering.

Wu joined in Alfred University as an assistant professor in 2011. He was promoted to associate professor in 2016 and became a full professor in 2018. His current research is focused on the development of optical and transparent materials for optoelectronic and photonic applications.
