ALFRED, NY - Filmmaker, DJ, and artist Ephraim Asili will virtually join the Alfred University community for a discussion of his series of short films entitled The Diaspora Suite on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m.

Currently an Assistant Professor of Film and Electronic Arts at Bard College, Asili has produced a five-part series that is both a personal and global study of the African diaspora. Created over the course of seven years, every film in the series has a unique rhythm built around a specific amalgam of footage shot in American and international locations — each an important site within the African diaspora.

Asili will join the Alfred University community for a discussion of his work and engage in a question-and-answer session with students and other community members. People interested in the event should contact Assistant Professor James Hansen (hansen@alfred.edu) for their Zoom link
