Longtime employee Tricia Debertolis leaving Alfred University
Tricia Debertolis, associate dean of students at Alfred University, has left Alfred, effective Thursday, March 11, to take the same position at New York Institute of Technology in New York City.
ALFRED, NY -- Tricia Debertolis, associate dean of students at Alfred University, has left Alfred, effective Thursday, March 11, to take the same position at New York Institute of Technology in New York City.
Debertolis, who begins her duties at NYIT Monday, March 15, leaves Alfred University after nearly 25 years as a staff member in the Division of Student Affairs.
“It is difficult to imagine Alfred University without Tricia Debertolis,” said Kimberly Guyer, vice president of Student Affairs. “She has impacted the lives of countless colleagues and students and helped to make AU the special place that it is today. I am excited for Tricia to embark on this new adventure, but we will miss her. She will always be part of the AU family.”
Debertolis earned a master’s degree in college student development from Alfred University in 1995 and began her career at Alfred in July 1996 as assistant director of the Powell Campus Center. She was appointed director of the Powell Campus Center in 1998 and held that position for a decade before her appointment as assistant dean of Student Programs in 2008. Eight years later, in 2016, she was appointed interim associate dean of students and in 2017 was named to associate dean of students.
In 2018, Debertolis was a recipient of the inaugural Saxon Service Award, which honors fostering a positive attitude, demonstrating initiative and standing out among the Alfred University community, and exemplifying the Saxon spirit. In 2019, she was winner of the Abigail Allen Award, which recognizes service to women in the Alfred community.
