The Workshop

Discover the expressive power of portraiture in this intensive week of drawing from life. Participants will explore anatomy, proportion, and character through a series of guided exercises emphasizing observation, structure, and personal interpretation. Each day combines demonstration, individual feedback, and sustained drawing sessions designed to strengthen technical skills and deepen creative insight. Suitable for both beginning and experienced artists, this workshop offers a supportive environment for growth and discovery.

About the Instructor

ChristianChristian Fagerlund is a painter and educator based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, with features in New American Paintings, American Art Collector, and Rizzoli’s The Figure: Contemporary Perspectives. A graduate of the New York Academy of Art, where he received the Post-Graduate Fellowship, Christian has over two decades of teaching experience and is known for his insightful, student-centered approach.
