The Program
Are you a young rider with dreams of competing in college, but aren’t sure where to start? This program is your chance to explore what it takes to ride at the collegiate level, all while receiving expert coaching in both Western and Hunt Seat disciplines. Co-taught by Coaches Adam D’Agostino and Theresa Lounsberry, this program is designed to help you discover your potential and guide you toward making informed decisions about your riding future.
Program Highlights
- Exclusive Coaching from Experts: Receive specialized coaching from two top-tier trainers: Coach Adam D'Agostino, a Western IHSA specialist, and Coach Theresa Lounsberry, an experienced Hunt Seat IHSA coach. Together, they’ll provide valuable insights into both disciplines, giving you the opportunity to specialize in either Western or Hunt Seat riding during the program.
- Limited to 8 Riders Per Discipline: With only 8 Western riders and 8 Hunt Seat riders allowed, this program ensures personalized instruction and plenty of one-on-one time with the coaches. You’ll receive focused feedback and guidance to elevate your skills in your chosen discipline.
- Explore Collegiate Riding: Ever wondered what it takes to ride in college? Get a behind-the-scenes look at collegiate riding programs, the IHSA competition format, and what college coaches are looking for in potential recruits. The program is designed to help you understand what to expect from the collegiate riding experience.
- Western Riders with Coach Adam D'Agostino: Dive into the world of Western IHSA competition. Whether you’re interested in Horsemanship, Reining, or Ranch Riding, Coach D’Agostino will teach you the techniques and mindset needed to succeed in these events at the collegiate level. Get comfortable with what it takes to shine in an IHSA Western show.
- Hunt Seat Riders with Coach Theresa Lounsberry: For those interested in Hunt Seat riding, Coach Lounsberry will guide you through the core skills needed for IHSA competition, from Equitation on the Flat to Equitation over Fences. Learn how to refine your equitation, improve your confidence in the ring, and prepare for college-level competition.
- Group Dynamics and Teamwork: Even though you’ll be focusing on your discipline, the program encourages teamwork and camaraderie. You’ll have the chance to meet other riders with similar goals and support one another as you work toward improving your skills.
- Fun, Challenging, and Educational: This program is designed to be an engaging, supportive environment where riders of all levels can challenge themselves, learn new skills, and grow both as individuals and riders. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of what college riding entails and whether it’s the right fit for you.
