Jason Amore is currently the Vice President of University Advancement. He is a two-time alumnus of Alfred University earning a bachelor’s degree in communications in 1997 and a master’s in community services administration in 1999.
Before joining Alfred, Jason was the Associate Vice President for Arts, Sciences, Engineering and University Advancement at the University of Rochester. As part of the Executive Management Team, Jason developed strategies for academic development and prospect management; provided insight on a broad range of programs and initiatives that model best practices in major and principal gift fundraising; and oversaw the innovative, award-winning, leadership annual giving program, The George Eastman Circle.
Previously, Jason was at the University of Louisville where he was promoted into successive roles from when he arrived in 2010 as Director of Major Gifts for the J.B. Speed School of Engineering, to the Executive Director of Development-Belknap Campus, to Associate Vice President of Development in 2015.
With a career extending over 17 years, Jason has experience in a number of campaigns, including a $1B campaign at the University of Louisville. He has personally cultivated and closed more than $185M in gifts and pledges over the course of his career. He has effectively structured and built fundraising teams that foster high performance and high retention rates. He has worked with deans, executive directors, faculty and volunteers to build consensus around funding priorities.
Prior to the University of Louisville, beginning in 1999, Jason worked at General Motors in communications, at the University of Buffalo—Division of Athletics, Alfred University—Director of Major Gifts, SUNY-Geneseo—Director of Annual Giving, and the Rochester Institute of Technology, as Director of Development for the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.
Jason and his wife, Kara, have two children, Julian and Adelynn.
