Guidance Counselor and StudentAlfred University is a private, nonsectarian university of about 2,000 undergraduate and 300 graduate students, located between the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains and the picturesque Finger Lakes in Western New York State.

Washington Monthly ranked AU 8th in the nation among master's institutions in 2011. U.S. News and World Report consistently ranks AU among the top 20 master's level institutions in the North based on academic quality and price. Alfred is internationally known for our ceramic engineering program, and nationally known for our School of Art & Design, but what our students really love about AU is the way engineers, artists, writers, athletes and social scientists all interact with each other and feel at home.

Helpful Links Campus Visits

Our general Campus Tours are offered Monday - Friday at 9:15 AM; 11:15 AM; 1:15 PM; and 3:15 PM; and on select Saturdays at 10:15 and 11:30 AM during the academic year. The tour takes approximately an hour and 15 minutes, and is a combination walking/van tour so we can really show you what life is like at AU. During the summer, we offer tours Monday - Friday at 10 AM and 2 PM.

We offer specialized tours for our art and engineering facilities. These tours are both offered Monday - Friday at 11:15 AM and 3:15 PM; and at 11:30 AM on select Saturdays during the academic year; and at 11:30 AM during the summer.
