Student Sick Time

To: Students & Supervisors of Student Workers

Students, you will see a sick leave option on your timesheet, this is because you have started accruing sick time. However, the New York State Paid Sick Leave laws do not go into effect until 1/1/2021. You may not use this sick leave until January of 2021.

Please be on the lookout for future updates of the policies and procedures for this new law. Once HR has these posted a notice will go out to all students.

If you have any questions, please email humanresources@alfred.edu

Adam TINKLE - IEA Artist in Residence

Adam Tinkle's work considers sound, listening, improvisation, and co-creation across divides of artistic discipline and social location. His path winds between performances, gallery exhibitions, site-specific interventions, participatory workshops, and collaborations in a range of media, including an audio drama featuring Marina Abramovic and Kim Stanley Robinson and the ambisonic sound design for the award-winning 360 VR film "How to Tell a True Immigrant Story." His music releases on Risky Forager, Edgetone, and Midnight Gallery span noise, jazz, and folksong, and his recent video installations imagine feedback as a form of machinic desire.

The Institute for Electronic Art's Experimental Projects Residency is supported by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and the Schein-Joseph Endowment.

Under COVID-19 protocols sadly any in-person engagements with students and IEA AIRs will not be possible.

Heavenly Hosts: wes! livezey's debut solo exhibition gallery opening

Dates: 11/19/2020 to 11/22/2020
Time: 5-9 PM
Location: Terracotta Celadon Building
This show acts as a shrine to queer sexuality, empowerment, and the shaking off of shame. Through religious and historical allusions, the hidden world of LGBTQ+ sex is brought to light, much to the dismay of today's society. Please join me in celebrating the bodies that are so often pushed into the shadows and forgotten.
