Pedagogy Workshop: Using Digital Media in Writing Assignments

Daniel Anderson from the University of North Carolina will talk about creating engaging writing assignments by incorporating digital media that students are familiar with and enjoy. Annotated playlists can be adapted to multiple disciplines to extend familiar forms of writing with audio analysis. Low-threshold tools and publicly available raw materials allow students to create podcasts and other audio projects. Twitter feeds can provide data for social science analysis and reports. These activities can further both print and media literacies and increase engagement in both online and in-person classrooms. Friday, March 5, 3:30 pm on Zoom.

This workshop is part of the Writing Center's Pizza and Pedagogy series (without the pizza this year). Email to sign up and get the Zoom link.
