This is the ninth training in a 9 part training series targeted at any AU employee who has supervisory roles in their department. This training can also be especially helpful for any staff who support the supervisors in their department.

This training will encompass: how to provide feedback, establish goals and objectives, preparing the evaluation, how to approach the meeting, and why performance reviews matter

Supervisors who may be new in their rolls or need a refresher are encouraged to come.

This training will be held on May 4, 2021 from 11:15am-12:00pm and on May 13, 2021 from 11:15am-12:00pm both online.

HR Tip of the Month

Did you know that Alfred Universities Health Insurance provider, Univera, offers telemedicine at no cost to the subscriber?

Telemedicine gives you fast access to medical and behavioral health care 24/7/365, from the comfort of your home, desk, or hotel room. Through our partnership with MDLIVE, you'll receive the same quality of care you receive from your own doctor, but more conveniently via your phone, tablet, or computer.

Here are some of the common medical conditions treated with telemedicine:

Adults: allergies, cold and flu, ear infections, fever, headache, joint aches and pains, nausea and vomiting, pink eye, rashes, sinus infections, sunburn, urinary tract infections*.

Telemedicine covers Behavioral Health, too:

In addition to anytime, anywhere access to medical doctors, you can also consult with a psychiatrist or choose from a variety of licensed therapists from the privacy of your own home. You can even schedule recurring appointments to establish an ongoing relationship with one therapist.

Don't wait until you need it, Here are easy ways to activate telemedicine today. (Must be an active Univera subscriber to take advantage of this program at zero cost to you.) Not a Univera subscriber? You can still use this system, but there may be a cost associated with it. Contact HR for more information or check with your health insurance carrier to see if they offer Telemedicine as a benefit in their plan(s).

Collecting New and Lightly Used School Supplies!

Before you throw out that notebook you hardly used this semester or squirrel away those untouched folders and note cards after graduation because you, "might use it someday," why not consider donating those items instead?

The Center for Academic Success is collecting new and lightly used school supplies to give away to AU students next semester. If you have any supplies leftover at the end of this semester, please feel free to drop them off at CAS. We are located on the second floor of Herrick Library.

Please contact us at cas@alfred.edu or call 607-871-2148 if you have any questions!
