Panopto Update from ITS: Training and Access

ITS recently announced that AU would be adopting Panopto as a replacement for Ensemble for lecture capture and video management. The transition has been complete as of July 1.

Curious about clay? Always wanted to try to pottery wheel or wondered what all the hype is about? The Alfred Arts Studio (at the West) is open at last thanks to major support from the community.

Alfred Arts Studio at the West offers studio space and one time classes. Sign up for 2 hours guided instruction. Bring a friend or a group to our weekly workshops, or schedule one on one or group sessions. Want to share your love of clay with friends and family? Looking for a fun date night? Looking for something to do with the family this weekend?

BYOB Friday evenings 6-8pm on the pottery wheel
Saturday and Sunday Handbuilding Workshops 1-3pm.

Coming to the Village this weekend? Make a day of it! All classes include clay, glaze and firing. Drop-ins are welcomed, but scheduling in advance guarantees the class will run.

Have experience and looking for a place to make your work? The studio is ready to use! The West offers three commitment levels: punch cards, studio passport and membership. West Studio Punch Card and West Studio Passport holders have access to open studio time during posted hours. West Studio Membership holders have access to studio time 24/7 and sign up to monitor the studio 3 hours per week. Alfredartstudio.com

Open Call: Light Matter Film Festival

Friday, July 15 2022 to Friday, September 9 2022

2022 Light Matter Experimental Film and Media Arts Festival
November 4-6, 2022

Entries Due: September 9

The second annual Light Matter Festival will be held in person in Alfred, NY over the weekend of November 4-6.

Light Matter is an annual festival dedicated to the artists moving image, seeking to bring together works of experimental film, video art, and the media arts. Conventional films need not apply. Preference will be given to shorts, but features will be considered.

As a young festival with limited resources, Light Matter will present approximately four to six programs. Screenings will take place in Holmes Auditorium on the campus of Alfred University. Suitable works will also be selected for an exhibition in the TS1 / Harland Snodgrass Gallery, which features a range of possibilities for multi-channel work.
