Upcoming Changes to the Storage of AU Zoom Recordings

Information Technology Services is pleased to continue offering Zoom to the campus community. In order to ensure the quality and availability of this service, AU routinely deletes old recordings from our instance of Zoom. This is scheduled twice per year, in the winter and summer. All recordings made prior to May 15, 2023 will be deleted on July 5, 2023. Users are encouraged to examine their recordings and download any items that need to be saved. This routine maintenance will allow us to continue to provide Zoom for classes and meetings. Any questions on this matter can be directed to the ITS Helpdesk. Thank you for your cooperation.

Alfred University Pep Band is seeking faculty and staff members who play musical instruments to join the Pep Band!

Juneteenth Celebration at Veterans Park

The Committee for Religious and Racial healing will be sponsoring a Juneteenth Celebration at Veterans Park (formerly known as James Street Park) in Hornell from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, June 17. Juneteenth is a celebration of the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19th, 1865, Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that all slaves were now free. Juneteenth has long been celebrated in the Black community. As of 2022, Juneteenth became a national holiday.

The Juneteenth Celebration in Hornell will include some brief historical talks, a re-enactment of the original Juneteenth, performances, games, and other activities. The event is free and open to everyone. The Committee for Racial and Religious Healing hopes that this will become an annual celebration.
