Information Technology Services is pleased to continue offering Zoom to the campus community. In order to ensure the quality and availability of this service, AU routinely deletes old recordings from our instance of Zoom. This is scheduled twice per year, in the winter and summer. All recordings made prior to May 10, 2024 will be deleted on July 1, 2024. Users are encouraged to examine their recordings and download any items that need to be saved. This routine maintenance will allow us to continue to provide Zoom for classes and meetings. Any questions on this matter can be directed to the ITS Helpdesk. Thank you for your cooperation.

With the fiscal year end fast approaching, we wanted to remind you that purchase orders must be fully received and invoiced by close of business on 6/28/2024 to be considered spend against the current fiscal year budget. If items arrive after that date, they will be charged to the new fiscal year.
Effective on Monday, June 6th, all Saxon Shop requisitions will be routed to Procurement prior to order release. If the order is not going to be received/invoiced prior to close of business on 6/28/2024, then Procurement will move the orders into the next fiscal year.
In addition, no orders will be released during the week of 6/24/2024 - 6/28/2024. Those orders will be held and released when we return on 7/1/2024 as FY2025 purchases.
Please feel free to contact the Procurement Office (x2698) if you have any questions.
Thank you!

If you have purchasing responsibilities in The Saxon Shop, and you will be leaving for the Summer, there are a couple of things that you need to do before you leave.
1. Please edit the buyer on any open purchase orders that require goods receipts. See instructions attached.
2. Please set up your out of office in The Saxon Shop. You can select a person in your department/division to act as your proxy during your time away, and that will keep things from getting stuck in the system. Instructions for setting up your out of office are also attached.
Please call the Procurement Office (x2698) if you have any questions.

The Student Financial Aid Office is in the process of preparing returning student financial aid evaluations. Please be patient as we are working as quickly and diligently as possible. Due to the technical difficulties with FAFSA and the lateness of the application process with the Federal Government we are just starting Returning Student Aid Offers. To help make sure your file will be ready for our review please log into your Banner Web, under the Financial Aid Tab 24-25 and make sure that all of your tasks are completed.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time.

Foster Lake is now open for swimming from 11 am to 7 pm daily until classes resume in August. At that time, lifeguards will be on duty Friday afternoons plus Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm through Columbus Day Weekend, when swimming ends for the season.
Alfred University has canoes, kayaks and a paddle boat that employees, retirees, and students are welcome to use. We also will have a boathouse by June or early July with paddles and life preservers. Stand-up paddleboards will be available once the boathouse is in place. No gas-powered watercraft allowed, but low-speed electric trolling motors are permitted.
Boating, picnicking, hiking, and swimming are the main recreational activities at the lake.
There is a $75 charge to reserve the pavilion for exclusive use that is not for an University function. University reservations are welcome, and there is no charge. Everyone is welcome to use the pavilion on a non-exclusive basis any time it is not reserved.
Foster Lake is a day use facility. Gates are unlocked at dawn, and Public Safety locks up after dark.
Emma McDowell is the facilities coordinator, and the person to contact for reserving the pavilion or general information about the lake.
