Alfred University Pep Band is seeking students who play musical instruments to join the Pep Band!
Now in its 25th year, the AU Pep Band plays at all Saxon home football games. The band is looking to expand this year by playing at basketball games and, perhaps, other events, as requested.
Got pep? Play an instrument? We'd love to have you get on the Bandwagon! We're having a blast, but we really could use MORE COWBELL!!

We are pleased to announce that our institution is transitioning to Banner 9 Self-Service (SSB 9) this Fall Semester. This upgrade represents a major step forward in modernizing our administrative systems and improving the user experience for students, faculty, and staff.
********* Why Banner 9?**********
--Banner 9 Self-Service offers a modern, mobile-friendly interface with improved navigation and accessibility. Key benefits include:
--Streamlined student dashboard that consolidates academic and personal information in one place.
--Integrated tools like photo class rosters and tabbed navigation for easier access to services.
--Enhanced usability for employee functions such as timesheet submission and direct deposit.
While the core functionality remains familiar, the look and feel will be significantly updated, making it easier to find what you need, when you need it.
***Transition Timeline***
We are rolling out Banner 9 in phases to ensure a smooth transition:
**August 11 ---Student Records / Dean's Menu
**August 18 ---Faculty Services (excluding Faculty Grade Entry)
**August 25 ---Financial Aid
**September 8th --Banner 9 Employee Self Service introduced (with options to use Banner 8 Employee Self Service for one week)
**September 15th -- Full cutover to Banner 9 Employee Self Service
**October 20 ---Faculty Grade Entry
**October 27 ---Final landing page cutover
**Training & Support**
To help you get comfortable with the new system, we are offering:

The Human Resources Office is pleased to announce designated times for student I-9 verifications. Please visit us during the following hours with your acceptable documentation and completed paperwork:
Monday, Wednesday, & Friday: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Tuesday & Thursday: 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
We encourage all students to stop by during these times to complete their I-9 verification process. If you have any questions, please contact the Human Resources Office.

If you have a current student parking pass you have access to visit the lake.
If you are a student who does not have a parking pass you can visit the Facilities Services office with your student ID and obtain a FREE Foster Lake pass.

We are pleased to announce that Alfred University will officially launch Banner 9 Employee Self-Service (SSB) beginning the week of September 8, 2025, as part of our broader transition to the Banner 9 SSB platform.
This upgrade represents a significant step forward in enhancing the user experience for our employees, offering streamlined navigation, and improved accessibility for key functions such as timesheet submission, direct deposit, and benefits review.
Implementation Timeline:
* September 8th-September 22nd: Banner 9 Employee Self-Service becomes available. Banner 8 SSB will remain accessible for two additional week to allow users time to adjust to the new platform.
* September 23rd: Full transition to Banner 9 Employee Self-Service. Banner 8 will be retired for employee functions.
What to Expect from ITS & HR:
We understand that transitions of this nature can be challenging, especially during a busy semester. To ensure a smooth rollout, ITS and HR are working closely together to provide support and clear communication throughout the process.
Here's what you can expect:
* Dual Access Period: From September 8-22nd, employees may choose to use either Banner 8 or Banner 9 to ease the transition. Hillel at Alfred
2025 HIGH HOLY DAYS SCHEDULE
We are pleased to share the 2025 High Holy Day schedule. Events will be held at the Knight Club on the Alfred University campus and at the Hillel House (18 S. Main Street, Alfred).
Hillel at Alfred is proud to sponsor:

* Erev Yom Kippur Dinner
* Yom Kippur Break Fast
We will also livestream High Holy Day services from Central Synagogue in New York City at the Knight Club on erev Rosh Hashanah and erev Yom Kippur.
All meals are kosher. Please sign-in to AU Connect to reserve a space at the dinners, and let us know if you are vegetarian or have special dietary needs.
Reminder: if you make a reservation and do not attend, Hillel still incurs the cost of your meal.
