Looking for a fresh way to energize your semester? Need a PFIT or Wellness credit? Want to understand your body better, build confidence, or simply find a joyful way to de-stress?
Take a dance class!
Dance classes at Alfred University are open to everyone-no experience required, and no need to consider yourself a "dancer." If you can move, you can dance. If you can breathe, you can belong here. Whether you're a chemistry major, an art student, an engineer, or somewhere in between, our dance classes welcome all majors and minors. You don't need to be a dance major or minor to join in-just bring yourself and an open mind!
Dance offers the chance to:
? Learn your body-how it moves, balances, strengthens, and adapts
? Release stress-shake out the tension of the week and reconnect with joy
? Build community-meet students from across campus who love to move
? Express yourself-no pressure, no expectations, just freedom of movement
Our dance classes blend creativity, technique, and exploration, helping you grow not only as a mover, but as a human. Whether you're curious about trying something new, wanting a mindful movement practice, or craving a fun physical outlet, there's a dance class that will meet you exactly where you are.
You don't need fancy gear or years of training. Just show up-and let the magic of movement happen. Dance invites you to discover new parts of yourself, connect with your body, and enjoy the simple, powerful act of moving through space.
Make space to move this spring - your body will thank you. Come dance with us!

If you're someone who loves hands-on creativity, problem-solving, and bringing big ideas to life, then Performance Design and Technology (PDAT) might be your perfect home on campus. Whether you dream in color palettes, enjoy working with tools, love the challenge of design thinking, or simply want to be part of a team that makes magic happen behind the scenes-PDAT is calling your name.
And the best part? You do NOT need to be a major or minor to get involved. PDAT is open to everyone-all majors, all experience levels, all creative spirits. If you're curious, you belong.
PDAT is where artistry meets engineering, where storytelling becomes three-dimensional, and where collaboration turns ideas into unforgettable experiences.
You'll have the chance to:
?? Design costumes, sets, props, lighting, projections, and sound
?? Build in our shops, from tiny details to full-scale installations
?? Innovate with technology, materials, and creative problem-solving
?? Collaborate with directors, choreographers, actors, musicians, and fellow designers
?? Level up your creative confidence, technical skills, and teamwork
Whether you've never touched a power tool, or you've been building things since childhood... whether you're an artist, a maker, a coder, an engineer, or just a person who likes to figure things out... PDAT welcomes you to explore, experiment, and create something new.
Performance design and technology is the heartbeat behind every show-we shape the world the audience steps into. We decide how a scene feels, how a moment glows, how a performer transforms. It's imaginative, collaborative, and exhilarating work where your ideas truly matter.
Bring your curiosity. Bring your creativity. Bring your willingness to try. PDAT is open to you-so come make some magic with us.
