Mark your calendars and plan to join us for Reunion 2018, June 8-10. Everyone is welcome with a special invitation extended to - Alfred's Golden Saxons (anyone who graduated 1965 or earlier, with Golden Saxon honored years being 1948, 1953, 1958 and 1963). We will honor and celebrate members from the classes of: 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008 and 2013. Special Group Reunions include our Alfred University Emeriti Faculty members, AUNYC alumni and HEOP alumni.

We enjoyed amazing Alfred weekends with over 500 attending each year and missed our friends and classmates who were not able to make it. We loved all the stories and memories and had a great time making new memories to cherish.

12 pm (Noon) - The Carillon - Take a moment to enjoy the amazing sound of Alfred University's carillon as it chimes through the valley. This year's carillonist is Steve Crandall '76.

12 pm (Noon) – Saxon Cyclists – Join us at the King Alfred Statue as we welcome our Alfred Saxon Cyclist upon their arrival to campus.

1 – 3 pm - Campus Tours - Take a walk down memory lane visiting some of the most iconic buildings on Alfred University’s campus in addition to touring some of the newest facilities

1 – 4 pm – Golden Saxons & Class of ’68 Lounge

3 pm - Glass Blowing Demonstration – Witness first-hand as some of the most beautiful glass pieces in the country are created

5 - 7 pm – Cooking Class – Create and enjoy a delicious three course meal and wine pairing experience with Alfred University’s own Executive Chef, Jason. Food restrictions cannot be accommodated. Space is limited. $35 per person

5 pm – Flavors at Alfred

6 pm – Saxon Circle Dinner– Hosted by President Mark Zupan. Invitation only

7:30 pm – Choose Kind - Join George ’96 and Kristine (Deily) ’95 Dale along with their three sons Jeremy 18, Tommy 16, and Cody 12, as they share their real-life experiences of a family living with facial differences. Born with a congenital craniofacial condition called Goldenhar Syndrome, Jeremy will talk about how the “Choose Kind” message shared in book and movie “Wonder” is important for everyone to embrace. After you meet the Dale family enjoy the viewing of “Wonder.”

8:30 pm - Outdoor movie night – Enjoy the family friendly movie “Wonder.” Another Alfred Alum, Russ Newman (’90) and his family collaborated closely with the author of the book and the directors of the film. His son, Nathaniel Newman, was born with the craniofacial condition Treacher Collins, the same condition as the main character Auggie. This evening will bring to light the importance of kindness, compassion and acceptance. Russ and George both currently serve on the Board of Directors for Children’s Craniofacial Association (www.ccakids.org), an organization that supports families and individuals living with craniofacial differences and is dedicated to spreading the Choose Kind message.

Both of the events listed above will be held in the Bandstand area on Main Street with the rain location being in Nevins Theater.

8 pm – 10 pm – Welcome Back Party – Let us welcome you home. Join us at Fasano House for complimentary beer and wine. Relax, unwind and let the weekend begin as you listen the the amazing sound of MGO, featuring Alfred University's own Adam Accetta '91 on the drums.

10 pm - Observatory Open – (clear skies only)

7 am – 5K Race – $20 Preregistration fee. $25 Day of race.

8 – 10 am – Fruit Carving Class/Breakfast – Under the instruction of Executive Chef Jason, create your own masterpiece carved from fruit. Breakfast and mimosas are included. Food restrictions cannot be accommodated. Space is limited. $35 per person.

10:30 – 11:30 am – Senior Spotlight – This is your opportunity to hear firsthand what a year, or four years, in the life of an Alfred University student is like nowadays. Graduated seniors Logan Gee ’18, Nick Schmidt ’18, Seth Spicer ’18 and Beryl Torthe ’18 will share their Alfred experience with you and are excited to hear about yours as well. It’s student interaction at its best!

12:30 pm - All-Class Reunion Picnic – Your first opportunity to gather as a group. Join us as we recognize Alfred University’s prestigious emeriti faculty in attendance. $15 per person. Ticket required

2 – 3:30 – Alfred Art Walk - Join docents for a guided tour of Alfred galleries beginning in the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum. From the village to campus, discover Alfred as a true arts destination. Stops on the tour will include Alfred Ceramic Art Museum on view: work by Cristina Cordova (MFA’02), Lee Somers (MFA ’06 and BFA ’99) and Elisabeth Pellathy (BFA ’99?), Robert C. 2 - 5 pm – Alumni and Community Gathering – Enjoy a family friendly afternoon complete with a kid’s bounce house, games, popcorn, snow cones, games, music and much more.

2:30 – 3:30 pm – State of the University & Annual Alumni Association Meeting – Hear from President Mark Zupan and Alumni Council President Scott Brenner ’84

3 – 4:30 pm Equestrian Center Tour & Demonstration - Take a tour of the Alfred University’s beautiful Equestrian Center and witness beauty and speed in motion as some of our most talented horses and riders put on a show just for you

3:00 pm – The Carillon – Take a moment to enjoy the amazing sound of Alfred University’s carillon chiming through the valley. This year’s carillonist is Steve Crandall ‘76

3 – 4 pm – H/EOP Family Gathering – Gather and network with Alfred University’s Opportunities Program staff Nadine Shardlow, Michele Doorley, Mariah Evens and Wendy Marvin. Reconnect with your Alfred University Opportunities Program family

4:30 – 6:30 pm – President’s Cocktail Reception – Mingle with President Mark Zupan, current & emeriti faculty and Alfred University staff. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear and chat about “everything AU”
