Laurel Jay Carpenter Performance

Laurel Jay Carpenter is a performance and installation artist, investigating longing, devotion and alchemy in her durational live works.

She has exhibited extensively in New York City and internationally in sites ranging from a palace moat in Germany, a former Sanatorium town in Poland, the main city fountain in Norway, a remote sculpture park in Spain, and other galleries, festivals, and performance events including the 2007 Venice Biennale.

Laurel was a member of the Independent Performance Group (2004-07), founded and facilitated by Marina Abramovic, and collaborates frequently with Norwegian multi-media artist Terese Longva and U.S. dance artist Robert Bingham, and serves as associate professor of Art at Alfred University.

Communication Studies Candidate on Campus

Please join us for "Cookies and Questions" on Thursday, 2/19/2015 from 5:20 - 6 p.m. in Science Center 404. Candidate Jacob Dickerson will present highlights from his research, followed by a brief Q&A and reception. Faculty and students are encouraged to attend.
