Donations to Equestrian Programs

Donate a Horse Today

At Alfred, we provide meaningful experiences to our students through partnerships with horses that are made possible through generous donors from the Western and English horse industries. To continue our commitment to our students, we need horses that are both sound and capable of teaching students daily.

About Horse Donations

The horses that we have in our care receive top notch care from our staff, the team of veterinarians and farriers we work with, and our students. For a horse to blend into our herd, they should have a developed training programs and be of breed specifics that will allow us to teach in the areas of Dressage, Hunter/Jumper, and Western riding.

We ask that horses donated to Alfred fall under these qualifications:

  • Dressage – USDF/FEI training and competing experience., Registered Warmbloods and Thoroughbreds preferred; Horses should have exposure to Training Level through Second Level tests or up. No small ponies or gaited horses.
  • Hunt Seat – USHJA/USEF/AQHA Registered Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, Quarter Horses/Paints. IEA competition records also accepted. Horses should be able to jump over 2’, but flat horses are to be considered. No small ponies or gaited horses.
  • Western – AQHA, APHA, PthA, ApHC, PHBA, ABRA/IBHA registered horses with performance records in breed shows or NRHA, ARHA shows accepted. No ponies, gaited horses or grade stock.
