Often families find it necessary to seek additional or alternative financial options to supplement existing resources for meeting the costs of higher education. This page provides a brief description of several alternative educational financing options available to Alfred University families. Alfred does not endorse any one program as the best source. Decisions as to which programs are most desirable for a family's needs will depend on each family's specific financial circumstances, goals, and objectives. We encourage families to review carefully all available opportunities before making a final decision.
Monthly Payment Plan:
Alfred University offers an interest-free monthly payment plan through our CASHNet ebilling and epayment site. The payment plan, referred to as ‘My Payment Plan’, allows students and parents to break the semester tuition bill into 4 or 5 monthly payments, with a similar plan available for the following semester. An enrollment fee of $30 and the first monthly payment must be paid upon enrollment. There are two types of plans available, a fixed plan with the monthly amount determined in advance by the payer (called user-determined plan,) or a plan that automatically divides the outstanding balance over the remaining payments on the plan (called imported plan, available July 1st when fall charges are assessed.)Â There is also an option available to set up automatic payments from your bank account. For more information on AU payment plans, please email AU for payment plan account information or log on to www.my.alfred.edu, click on ‘Resources’, and ‘Pay your Student Account’.
If you have other questions about University charges, billing or required payments, you may also contact the Alfred University Student Service Center at 607.871.2123.
