This show brings together four painters investigating fictitious and actual locations. The works reveal their interactions and experiences with specific environments, examine ephemeral occurrences, question our preconceived notions of place and present fresh perspectives on everyday observations.

Raw Goods displays artifacts of manufacturing in Western New York as examples of artful engineering, elegant solutions and material innovations and illuminates the historical relationships between regional factories and the tradition of material-based research at the New York State College of Ceramics.

The Free Electron Video Work By Steina and Woody Vasulka

In the 1970's Steina and Woody Vasulka laid the groundwork for the "free electron" in media art. The work in this exhibition examines the structure of video, its relationship to sound, image processing tools and the personal vocabularies that emerged through the Vasulka's research.
