2019-20 Exhibits

Checkerboard of exhibits

Layer Mask

-

Layer on layer on layer. Covering up, peeling back, adding to subtract. This show brings together new work from U.S.-based artists and includes painting, photography, sculpture.

Measured Space

-

Measured Space directly and indirectly draws on the historical and geological trajectories of the area of Alfred, New York, as both source and site. Through diverse materials and sculptural processes, the artists in this exhibition seek to distill their collective and individual research into moments of focused recalibration towards the body in space.

Painting As Is

-

This show brings together a group of artists with a keen interest in the blunt facts of painting. Facts that when deployed can demonstrate a wide range of pictorial languages that stretch across and within both abstraction and representation.

Material Structures

-

Four artists from the Division of Ceramic Art, each using distinct approaches to process, technology, and material, come together to construct objects and installations that complicate perception of pattern and depth.

MFA Thesis Exhibitions

-

Candidates for MFA degrees in Ceramic Art, Electronic Integrated Arts, Painting, and Sculpture/Dimensional Studies are featured in a series of culminating thesis exhibitions.
