Responsibilities
and Duties:
The Inamori School of Engineering at Alfred University invites applications for tenure-track faculty appointments at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on experience. The successful candidates will be expected to develop a strong externally funded research program and a high-quality teaching portfolio.

Outstanding candidates are sought with expertise in the broad fields of materials processing and characterization, with an emphasis on glass science or biomaterials; physical metallurgy; electron microscopy. In addition to building a world-class research program, the successful applicant will be expected to teach core MSE classes, as well as classes in their respective areas of expertise, at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Located in rural western New York, Alfred University is a private, non-sectarian university serving ~ 2000 undergraduates and 300 graduate students. The School offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Materials Science and Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Glass Engineering Science, Biomaterials, Mechanical and Renewable Energy Engineering.
   
Requirements: Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in MSE or a closely related field and be committed to excellence in research, teaching and service.
