Responsibilities
and Duties:
Alfred University seeks an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of School of Art and Design/Summer Ceramic Workshops. This position provides primary administration support to the Dean, assisting the Dean in the preparation, tracking, and implementation of the budget; administering summer school and assisting students with summer school classes; preparing statistical reports; preparing faculty promotion and tenure review packages; preparing contract requests; developing the master calendar for the School; and maintaining all files on the School of Art and Design. The Administrative Assistant will oversee and delegate assignments to support staff and student employees as necessary to complete clerical tasks.
   
Requirements: BS/BA/BFA preferred.

Additional knowledge and skills required are the ability to represent the School of Art and Design in a professional manner; discretion/confidentiality; strong organizational skills; efficiency and accuracy; ability to deal calmly with periods of high stress; proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a university/academic administrative office setting.
