Position Title: Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre/Performance Design
Location: Performing Arts
Responsibilities: Alfred University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre/Performance Design for a three-year full-time position with possibility of renewal beginning August 21, 2018. Responsibilities include designing and overseeing student designers for two theatre productions and one dance production. Teaching responsibilities include "Principles of Design" and one other course in the Fall and two courses in the Spring, selected from the requirements in the major/minor and the candidate's area of expertise, to the equivalent of twelve (12) credit hours per semester.

Theatre productions are supported by our full-time Technical Director and Costume Shop Manager. Our program engages guest directors and additional designers, depending on the needs of specific productions.
Requirements: Qualifications include an MFA in theatre design, teaching and professional design experience and expertise in two out of three areas of design: lighting, scene, costumes.
Experience: Entry level salary and benefits commensurate with background and experience.
